Ready or not here I come...was our little guys mantra on February 21, 2014 when he decided it was time to begin the process of coming into this world. It was noon and I was at work in Boston. What that meant for the rest of us was a quick change of plans. After a quick call to the Doctor who told me a train ride to our hospital was out of the question, I took a taxi to Mass General Hospital. Luckily it was Friday so Nana and Poppi already had Ty. Aunt Ashley stopped what she was doing and made the trip from Salem NH to Boston in what I believe was record time. Similarly Dad, stopped working, made all the appropriate notifications, got all our required gear, and left North Attleboro in a rush to make the hour trip to Boston before our little guy arrived. Everyone made it into town and we waited...and waited....and waited. Approximately 15 hours later after being told we had a long road ahead and no sleep on the horizon I finally agreed to the epidural, but wait....wasn't it supposed to help the pain and wasn't that the baby's head. Yep as was his MO all along, once again our baby boy was going to let us know who was boss of the situation. Gavin Daniel Hopewell arrived 3 weeks early on February 22, 2014 at 5:31am at 5lbs 12 ounces and 18.75 inches long. Our little peanut. We are in love!
